Synopsis
This drama is a modern story involving one's choice in life to choose between love or bread (money). Frank (Joe Cheng) plays a man who is considered useless and has ultimately achieved nothing. However, Shan Mei (Ariel Lin) has a typical family background with many jobs to support her family and even has to financially support her boyfriend living in the US.
Zhang Shen Mei quits her job in Taiwan and hopes to marry her boyfriend in the US, but finds out that he lied to her and stole her money. Left stranded, Shan Mei goes back to Taiwan. Later on, she meets Frank, who is equally in debt and they both decide to live together in a worn house.
This story also symbolizes how opposites attract. While Frank lives a mundane and careless lifestyle, Shan Mei is a diligent and hard-working person yet they match in terms of their desire for the object of money. Though Frank at first didn't accept Shan Mei's hardworking ability to earn money, he succumbs to liking her but does not express his feelings. To his detriment, En Hao, Shan Mei's new love interest comes into the picture, who is a wealthy and understanding man who is drastically opposite from Frank's reckless nature. Ironically, though Shan Mei sees En Hao's good qualities when she is with him, she cannot seem to forget about Frank. The question is, will the object of money overtake her desire for love?
